Kit Includes:
Blue Crossweave (A)
One 8”x 8½” rectangle
Words (B)
One 5 ¾”x7 ½” rectangle
Ferns (C)
One 3 ½”x 2 ½” rectangle
Pinecones (D)
One 1 ¾”x 1 ½” rectangle
Salmon (E)
One 3 ½”x 2 ½” rectangle
Toile (F)
One 3 ½”x 4 ½” rectangle
Clouds (G)
One 3 ½”x 2 ½” rectangle
Cutting Instructions:
Templates (See attached page)
Cut out template pieces along outer black line. The ¼” seam allowance is included.
Blue Crossweave
Use template to cut out 2 triangles that are 8 ¼” x 3 3/8” x 8 7/8” (A).
Words Fabric (Please note that this fabric is a directional print)
Use template to cut out 1 triangle that is 8 ¼” x 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (B).
Fern Fabric (Please note that this fabric is a directional print)
Create two rectangles 1¾” tall x 2½” wide by cutting in half on the 3½” side (C).
All Other Fabric (Please note that the salmon, toile, and cloud fabrics are directional prints)
The pinecones (D), salmon (E), toile (F), and clouds (G) fabric pieces are already cut to size.
General Sewing Instructions:
This pattern uses a scant ¼” seam allowance. Sew fabrics with right sides together and raw edges even. Be sure to press your seams after you sew them.
Sewing Instructions:
Tree Section:
Sew one Blue triangle (A) onto one side of the Words triangle (B) along the 8 ¼” side. Press open. Repeat with second Blue triangle (A). Press open. Sew your Fern (C) and Pinecones (D) fabric together to create a strip, making sure that your ferns are facing the right direction. Sew this strip to the bottom of your Words (B) triangle.
Patchwork Section:
Sew the Cloud (G) rectangle to the top of the Toile (F) rectangle. Sew the Salmon (E) rectangle to the bottom of the Toile (F) rectangle. Sew this strip to the righthand side of the finished tree section.
Your finished block should measure 8 ½” square. Trim if needed.
